Excellent list - I have everything but the water bob, and I only skip that because of my rain catchment system (and I have a creek not too far).

One item I highly recommend also is a Jase Case - that's the cherry on the top of my first aid kits. A collection of prescription drugs can save a life, and it has a very long shelf life.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks DoG, I appreciate that! That was actually going to be my next post! Did you purchase yours through the Wellness Company? We were lucky enough to have purchased such a kit from American Rescue, who are based in our area. We would not have been able to purchase one without our son who is a EMT, and his connections with the owner. We also have a rain water collection system. This list was a common sense list that won't break the bank for most people. I'm glad you're here since your publication is generally the one which kick starts my day with a laugh!!

No problem…bought mine from jasemedical.com

They made is super simple to buy - the only extra thing I had to do out of the ordinary is answer a few basic questions, and upload a photo of my drivers license. I got a call a couple days later from some doctor in my state who asked me a couple questions and the order was processed.

FWIW, can’t say this with absolute certainty, but I read about the Wellness Company and it was very negative, something about the owners being corrupted, evil, etc. can’t remember the details, but it stuck with me. Let’s just say if I was seriously thinking of using them, I would first do a deep dive on the company first..

Glad I could be your way to start your day, never gets old hearing that!

Make it a great weekend, stay prepped…

I had looked into the Wellness Company in the beginning, and the reasons you stated was why we didn’t purchase a kit from them. But, we have what we need and made our own kits!

Yea, it seems most people I talked to about the meds were getting them from fish supply companies at a big discount from the ‘human approved’ kind.. I went ahead and paid extra and got the human kind.

The more FDA is caught lying to us, the less their approval means. I read that about 1/3 of their ‘approved’ products end up being bad and subsequently removed from their approved lists. Pretty bad. Who needs them if they are that untrustworthy?

BTW, am I talking to the same Monica of ‘Monica’s dark corner’ .. ? Looks like two different accounts..?

Yes. I can’t figure out the glitch. If I reply on my phone, it comes up as the Butterflies account. On my laptop, it doesn’t. Where the problem came in was trying to add an entirely new publication on my original substack, and now it somehow morphs onto this one. I have no idea! I posted last night that I will be deleting my BDCR platform, because it’s hard to dedicate time to both.

Thermal, wood stove, seasoned fire wood, weapons , ammo and training to use tactically.

Physically fit, mentally tough as in a collapse by which everything you listed may be needed one should expect the rule of law to disappear.

Entertaining to view preppers stockpiling soda, koolaide, cookies etc.

Finally the most important item is coffee,a manual grinder and a purculator…ok maybe not but near the top of my list…

The cold will kill far more people than excessive heat.

Prepping shouldn’t be a hobby but a way of life.

For those of us who live in earthquake country, we should have most of this as well.

I agree! No matter where you live, a disaster can strike at any time, whether it be a hurricane, tornado, earthquakes, snowstorms, and any other created crisis's. Thank you for commenting! Very much appreciated!

I did the math on the bathtub water storage. Full, that will weigh 800 pounds. I’m not sure my underfloor would support that.

Monica's Dark Corner's avatar

Even filling it up half way is better than no water at all.

Then, you have bigger problems. The floor should absolutely be able to support the tub, water and body weight.

I’m a prepper also. I used to be off grid but harder to do as we age. It’s a great lifestyle. Had a 80 acre farm with an apple orchard.

It's hard to be off the grid totally, especially when we age and are dependent on medical assistance in any way. I'm envious of the 80 acres, I bet it was beautiful sight to see! It's hard to find land without environmental contaminates nowadays, even in places you think the land should be pristine!

I live in a hilltop village. Population around 25. We’ve 5 cubic m rain water and a spring. Wood and solar heating. Preserved foods. Nuke shelter. When a serious social breakdown occurs it won’t help.

Realistically, you are right. You can only prepare so much for so long. If a serious social breakdown does happen, the unimaginable would take place. Pray that it does not. Thank you for commenting!
