Thank you, Robert. Actually the Civil War was coined by Lincoln. To do justice for those who's history resonates with the South, I prefer to call it anything else but that. Saturday there is an unveiling in Abbeville by the DOC on Secession Hill, I'm hoping it won't be a washout!

I did not know that Lincoln coined the term "civil war." I tend to refer to this war as the war of coerced unity.

The real civil war in America occurred twelve years later in 1877 when america's aristocrats went to war with its citizens

Thank you Monica for introducing me to another hero that history books never mention. Well done. I look forward to meeting him the other side.

I appreciate you often referring to the conflict as the War between the States. It is a very justifiable term for the Civil War and was the term often used by the educators in the public schools of my youth. (much like our term WW-II is known as the Great Patriotic War in Russia✍🏼✔️) States rights, slavery, race, property, labor, wages, media spin, union and secession are multi-faceted 💎 concepts that are indeed perceived differently among the populations of different states both then and now. Grace and peace to you sister, CHRIST IS RISEN!

I had never heard of Burt Armistead, but then, our "history" was only what others wanted us to believe. Thank you so much for another very great article, of History, Monica!

I was wondering, since you mentioned him in this article, what are your thoughts on Joseph Davis.? In my archives is an article devoted to him.
